Legal bases (for visitors in the EU and UK): we rely on your consent (newsletter, non-essential cookies, ads), our legitimate interests (running, securing and improving the site, replying to messages) and legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time.
3. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Types of cookies we use
- Essential cookies: needed for the site to work, such as keeping you logged in, remembering your cookie choices and protecting forms from spam.
- Analytics cookies: we use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. This data is aggregated and helps us improve the site.
- Advertising cookies: we may show ads through Google AdSense or other ad networks. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to our site and other sites.
- Affiliate cookies: when you click an affiliate link, the partner may set a cookie to record that you came from AskCappy (see section 4).
Your choices
- Visitors from the EU, UK and other regions where consent is required will see a cookie banner, and non-essential cookies load only after you agree. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in our footer.
- You can opt out of personalized Google ads at Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses data from sites like ours at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- You can opt out of personalized ads from many other vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work properly.
4. Affiliate links and third-party sites
Some links on AskCappy are affiliate links. If you click one and buy a product, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The software company or affiliate network (such as PartnerStack or Impact) may use cookies to track that the referral came from us. We don’t receive your payment details from these purchases.
Our site links to other websites we don’t control. Once you leave AskCappy, their privacy policies apply, so please review them.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run AskCappy, and only as much as they need:

| [Newsletter provider, e.g. MailerLite or beehiiv] | Sending the Ask Cappy Weekly newsletter |
| Affiliate networks and software partners | Tracking referrals from affiliate links |

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or if AskCappy is sold or merged (in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data).
